Philippine Passport is a travel document that is recognized internationally and allow the holder to cross international borders. It is a formal document issued by the Philippine government for the purpose of identifying the citizenship of the holder and requesting other governments to allow its citizens to pass freely in their country.
Philippine passport is both primary travel document and national identity documents.
A Passport includes the person’s name, place, date of birth, photo, signature, sex, nationality, or citizenship.
Passport is the only document accepted that will allow you to enter and ext any country in the world. It is the only acceptable identification form/document for international travel.
List of Rerquirements for Passport Application
- Setting an appointment online.- You need to secure a slot by setting an appointment online.
- Filling out the application form. – In setting your appointment you need to filled up and complete the application form.
- Birth Certificate – Must be Original and PSA – authenticated
- Valid ID
You only need to bring one original and a photocopy. Any of the following ID is accepted.
Original and one photocopy is needed
- Social Security System (SSS) Card
- Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Card
- Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID)
- LTO Driver’s License
- Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID
- Philippine Identification (PhilID)
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) E-Card
- Voter’s ID or Voter’s Certification from the Officer of Election with Dry Seal. If presenting the Voter’s Certificate, you also need to provide NBI or police clearance.
- PNP Firearms License
- Airman License (issued August 2016 onwards)
- Philippine Postal ID (issued November 2016 onwards)
- Senior Citizen ID (if senior)
- School ID or Certificate of Enrolment with student’s photo and the school’s dry seal (if student)
- Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) issued from February 2020 onwards by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA)
5. Personal Appearance.
Applicant must be physically present at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on your appointment date for collecting your biometrics data and taking a photo of you.
6. Additional Requirement:
Married Applicant – Marriage Contract (Original & Photocopy) Applicant
Minor Applicant – Valid government Issued IC of either parent. (Original & Photocopy)
STEPS IN PASSPORT APPLICATION
Visit the DFA Online Passport Appointment
- Set up an appointment online.
- Read the terms and Conditions and then tick the box
- Choose Individual appointment
- Choose a DFA office/branch that you desired to go
- Select date available and time provided in the calendar. Green colored dates means available for appointment while the red color is already taken.
After you get a slot, the next step for you if to fill out the application form
2. Fill out the application form.
- Online application form is a four-page application.
- First Page is more of your Personal information’s – name, date of Birth, email address.
- Second Page is a family information – your parents information
- Third Page is all about your Application information
- The last page is your home and office address and contact number.
- Check all your information you have provided if everything is correct. Be sure no typo error in it.
- Submit your application form.
Once the application form have been successfully submitted then the next step is to pay for your application.
3. Pay the passport processing fee.
- There are two options available to choose.
- Express Processing which cost Php 1,200 and takes 5-7 days processing in Manila
- Regular Processing which cost Php 950.00 and takes 10-15 days processing in Manila
Provincial processing usually takes 15-20 days processing.
- Step in Payment
- Choose between regular or express processing
- Click PAY NOW
- Click the “I agree” box then click the PROCEED PAYMENT
- You will be directed to the Payment page which have the total amount to be paid and the payment option. Click PROCEED.
- Check your email for the Payment Reference Number and instructions how to pay. Save you reference number.
- Go to your chosen payment center and pay the exact amount. Be sure that you input the your Payment Reference number correctly.
Once payment is done, check your email for the appointment confirmation sent by the DFA.
- Emailed Appointment confirmation shoud be three files in it.
- Your application form
- the receipt for your payment
- the checklist
PRINT all pages in an A4 bondpaper. Bring this all printed documents to your appointment schedule in the DFA office.
4. Personal Appearance
- Show up in the DFA office in your schedule appointment
- Submit all the documents the DFA email to you for verification.
- Once verification is done on you documents, DFA now will start processing it.
- DFA will now encode your information and will take your biometrics and photo and your signature.
Once your biometrics ,photo and signature is taken by the Department of foreign Affairs then you have done processing your passport.
You just have to wait the schedule when to pick up your passport
5. Pick up your passport. – You may pick up your passport at the DFA office or you may opt it to be delivered at your desired address.
