BIR Certificate of Registration (COR) is the BIR Form 2303.

BIR Certificate of Registration (COR) also referred to as BIR Form 2303 is a document that proves that a business is registered as a taxpayer with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and has the legal rights to operate in the Philippines.

BIR Certificate of Registration (COR) also proves that your business have been registered either in Department of Trade and Industry or in Securities and Exchange Commission and also guarantees that the business has already secured a Business Permit to Operate in the Local Government  Unit located.

BIR Certificate of Registration (COR) is a go signal that the business can now start operating business as it already secured all the needed permits for business to operate.

Once you have done the Certificate of Registration, you can now apply for the Official Receipt printing. Business Official Receipt is needed for the start of the business as this is issued every time there is a transaction made.

Vital Information found in the Certificate of Registration (COR)

The Certificate of Registration contains the vital information of the company and the summary of its tax obligation to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

Here’s the information found in the (COR) about the Company.

  • Registered Name: The actual name of the business that has already been registered with the DTI or the SEC. If the business is registered in DTI that means it is a sole proprietorship then the Registered Name will be the full name of the Individual. For freelancer/consultant, this would be the full personal name of the individual registering the business.
  • Registering Office: Whether the business register is a main office or branch office.
  • Registered Address: The address where the business is located. A businesses must have an official registered address. This address will be used in BIR correspondence. If a business intends to change address, it is important that this change of address is notified to and registered with the BIR through a formal update process.
  • The Tax Identification Number: This is commonly referred to as the “TIN” of the registered business. A TIN is an identification number issued / assigned by the Bureau of Internal Revenue  to an individual or  organization for tracking purpose of the tax payment and obligation of the taxpayer.
  • TIN Issuance Date: is the date when the TIN is issued. In cases of Corporation this date always reflects the registration date in the BIR.  For the Single Proprietorship this date reflects the date when the Registered taxpayer apply for a TIN.
  • Line of Business: This section identifies the specific activities for which the business has been registered to pursue. It will be the BIR who will designate code that is  related to the line or category of business.
  • Registration Date:  The exact date on which the business was registered. The date of registration is important as it identifies the date from which the company’s tax obligations starts.

    • Annually – BIR Form 0604C
  • Percentage Tax:
    • Quarterly – BIR Form 2551Q
  • VAT
    • Monthly – BIR Form 2550M
    • Quarterly – BIR Form 2550Q
  • Income Tax/Corporate Tax
    • Individual
      • Quarterly – BIR Form 1701Q
      • Annually – BIR Form 1701
    • Corporate Tax
      • Quarterly – BIR Form 1702Q
      • Annually – BIR Form 1701
